mi casa es mi casa

Back from Phoenix and holiday festivities, and may I just holla a big "Thank God" that Christmas is finally done. Granted, I had a relatively good time and all, but the urge to put a spork in my eye was strong at times.

Anyhoo, I've got an extra long weekend coming up, which will give me a chance to finally freakin' catch up on the errands I've been meaning to do forever. I might even add some posts here (*gasp!*).

So, what the hell is everybody doing for New Year's? I plan on drinking and playing Texas Hold 'Em, preferably at the same time.

Living in the desert means having to deal with crazed, fry-pimping, giant lizards who get depressed during the holidays.

See Jane read

Ever since I was a wee lass, I've been a voracious reader. Then at some point in the last 5 years or so, I'm ashamed to say that my reading list dwindled down to almost nothing. The thing is, too, is that I have a bookshelf full of books, many of which I haven't read yet. It wasn't until after I saw "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings," that I was inspired to pick up a book that didn't involve Calvin & Hobbes (not that there's anything wrong with that) or the Bridget Jones' series.

As you can see on the right, I'm currently reading Memoirs of a Geisha, and loving it. But once I'm done with that, I'm not sure what I should move on to. In other words, I need help here, people. I'm tired of feeling like an illiterate yahoo.

So, what do you all recommend I spend my hard-earned cashola on?

So, I'm having lunch at Wendy's on Saturday, when I look out the window and see this drive by. I turn around, along with everyone else in the restaurant, and watch, while the car parks, and then this 6-foot tall man opens the front door, and climbs out. That's when I proceeded to get the giggles that would not stop, so I finished my lunch, and of course, broke out the camera.

I'm not sure what it is, if it's my cold (which is finally starting to abate), or perhaps the possibility of a date this weekend (first one in a long time), that I have been so apathetic about posting and e-mails, and basically everything, to be honest. Which, of course, has left me feeling a bit detached from everybody.

Not to say that there's not stuff floating around in my head that I've been wanting to blab about. It's just going to stay there until I get out of this weirdness that I'm in.

To sum it up, thanks for being so patient with me. I'm still here, but just taking my time.

Candy Gram!

He was just pissed that there wasn't any onion dip.
